With the implementation of the strategy of building an ocean power, China's ocean observation and scientific research have made great progress. With the emergence of various automated and integrated observation platforms, ocean surveys have expanded from offshore and estuaries to deep oceans, and obtaining accurate ocean observation data has become an urgent task to promote the development, development and utilization of marine science. With the advice of several domestic experts on ocean observation and quality control, the School of Oceanography of Hohai University held the first ocean temperature and salt observation and quality control technical seminar in Nanjing on December 6, 2018. More than 40 representatives attended the meeting.

This morning's meeting was dominated by academic reports. Professor Xu Jianping, the Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, gave a report entitled "How to Obtain Accurate Observation Data of the Marine Environment", expounding the importance of the quality of ocean observation data, and analyzing the ocean temperature and salt observation and data quality control in China The status quo, and drawing on the international ocean cooperation survey model, put forward suggestions to improve the quality of China's ocean temperature and salt observation data. Other experts were respectively on "Quality Control of CTD Data of Automatic Profile Buoy" (Lu Shaolei), "Data Quality Control of Bailong Buoy" (Li Chao), "Discussion on Data Processing of Wenyan Depth" (Ren Qiang), and "CTB Data Processing by SBE Software" The "bug" (Yang Guang) and other issues that occurred at the potential temperature exchanged and shared the successful experience of ocean temperature and salt observation and data quality control, as well as the existing problems and challenges. Qingdao Daowan Technology Co., Ltd. introduced its progress in high-precision temperature and salt depth instrument.

In the afternoon, a round table meeting was adopted. Experts and scholars at the meeting discussed methods and ways to improve the accuracy of ocean observation temperature and salt data, and put forward corresponding suggestions. In view of the current situation in China where there are many problems in the quality of survey data, the meeting recommended that for the quality control of marine observation data, the majority of scientific researchers should give necessary and full attention to strictly implement the rules and regulations of marine survey. At the management level, it is recommended to revise the "Ocean Survey Specification 2007" to improve the level standards for the accuracy of temperature, salinity and pressure measurements; for special surveys, establish an ocean survey data acceptance evaluation system for automatic profile buoys, underwater gliders and buoys, The CTD observation data carried by the latent target, etc., formulate and revise the data quasi-real-time and delayed quality control technical specifications.

The meeting called on the scientific research personnel to attach great importance to the quality control of ocean observation data, strengthen academic exchanges, hold at least one annual ocean temperature and salt observation and quality control technical seminars, and proposed to rename the meeting "Ocean temperature and salt observation data quality control forum".
